This extraordinary journey takes you to Tibet’s mythical Mount Kailas and Lake Manasarovar and then through the hidden Humla valley in Nepal’s westernmost Tibetan frontier. Starting from Kathmandu we travel overland west along the mighty Zangpo river and over high passes to reach Mt. Kailas. This holy mountain is revered by Hindus, Buddhist, Jains and Bonpos as the center of the universe. Once there we will make the ‘kora’ (holy-circuit) trek of the mountain, sharing the trail with many other pilgrims that head for Kailas during the summer months.


Day 1 : Drive Kathmandu to Kodari. Zhangmu Hotel.

Day 2 : Drive to Nyalam. Rest for acclimatization. Camp/Hotel.

Day 3 : Drive to Pegu Tso. Camp.

Day 4 : Drive Pegu Tso to Zhongba. Camp.

Day 5 : Drive Zhongba to Mayumla. Camp.

Day 6 : Continue drive to Darchen. Camp/Guest House.

Day 7 : Start Mt. Kailash parikrama trek. Camp at Diraphuk.

Day 8 : Continue trek over Drolma La pass. Camp at Zutrulphuk.

Day 9 : Trek to Darchen & drive to Lake Manasarovar. Camp.

Day 10 : Day at Lake Manasarovar. Camp.

Day 11 : Drive to Taklakot. Camp.

Day 12 : Drive to Ser. Trek to Hilsa. Camp.

Day 13 : Trek over Nara La pass to Yari. Camp.

Day 14 : Trek to near Yamkar. Camp.

Day 15 : Trek to Chumsa Khola. Camp.

Day 16 : Trek to Toling. Camp.

Day 17 : Trek to Simikot. Camp.

Day 18 : Fly Simikot/Nepalgunj/Kathmandu.
