The
Tibetan area of Kham in West-Sichuan is comprised of Garze Tibet
Autonomous Prefecture and Aba Tibet and Qiang-nationality Autonomous
Prefecture with an area of 230,000 square kilometers and a population of
1,6 million people and one million among which are Tibetan. At an
average altitude of 3000 meters above the sea level, this area features
in many high snowy mountains and broad highland pastures. Here plants of
various shapes and colors and numerous wild animals exist, some of which
are rare species such as giant panda, golden monkey and takin.
