This 6 day tour takes you to all the highlights of central Tibet. After flying to Lhasa, visit the famous Potala and Norbulinkha palaces, the great monasteries of Drepung and Sera and walk through the bustling Barkor Bazaar. Drive overland to Gyantse and Shigatse to see the the Kumbum Stupa and the Tashilungpo monastery. The most comprehensive tour to see all the power places of Tibet.

Day01 Arrive in Chengdu :
Arrive in Chengdu, transfer to hotel. 3*Huayang Garden City Hotel.

Day02 Chengdu - Lhasa air SZ4401 0630/0830 :
Leave for Lhasa by flight. Arrive in Lhasa in about 2 hours, take another 1.5-hour-drive to the city proper. On the way you will enjoy the spectacular senery, and the typical Tibetan villages as well as the Yak-skin-boat cruising on Yalung Zangbo river. Atfer lunch, stay at the hotel adapt yourself to the hight attitude. (Lhasa is 3650m above the sea level ). It's not uncommon to feel breathless, suffer from headaches and sleep poorly. Take things easy for the first few days and try to drink lots of fluids as THIS IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT. 3*Shambala Hotel.

Day03 Lhasa :
In the morning, visit Potala Palace - the palace at the highest sea level. Visit Sera monastery and Norbulingka - the summer palace of Dalai lama in the afternoon. 3*Shambala Hotel.

Day04 Lhasa :
Visit Drepung - one of the largest and most intact of Tibet's great monasteries in the morning. In the afternoon, walking tour to Barkhor circuit - Lhasa's fascinating medieval pilgrim circuit. Then visit Jokhang Temple - the spiritual heart of Tibet built in the 7th century. 3*Shambala Hotel.

Day05 Lhasa - Gyantse - Shigatse :
On the old road between Lhasa and agayantse, the dazzling Yamdrok-tso (4488m) Can be seen from the summit of the Kamba-la pass (4794m). For Tibetans, it is One of the four holy lakes of Tibet (the third largest). Leaving Yamdrok-tso is as spectacular as arriving since you have to cross the 5045m Karo-la, with its awesome roadside views of the Nojin Kangtsang Glacier. You will also visit Gyantse after lunch. It was here the Tibetan and Chinese people fight with the British Troups in the year of 1904. You will also visit Peljor Chode Monastery and the Gyantse Dzong. Then drive to Shigatse (3900m). 3*Trekker Hiking Through the HimalayasShigatse Hotel.

Day06 Shigatse - Lhasa :
Shigatse is the second largest town in Tibet and the traditional capital of Tsang. It has been the seat of the Panchen Lama, who is traditionally based in Tashilhunpo Monastery. This monastery is Shigatse's forrmost attraction. After the visit of the monastery, drive back to Lhasa via the northern route. 3*Shambala Hotel.

Day07 Lhasa - Chengdu air SZ4402 0920/1115 :
Drive to the Gongga airport after breakfast, take flight to Chengdu.
